The construction of a research proposal involves collaboration between the Principal Investigator, or the research team, and the various levels of the University’s Research Administration (Departmental Administrators, The Office of Sponsored Programs, etc.). As these individuals coordinate the building and submission of a research proposal , there are multiple factors to consider. These factors include determining the type of proposal (solicited, unsolicited, preproposal, etc.), the parts of a proposal (cover page, abstract, budget, etc.), and the guidelines for a proposal. When addressing each of these, it is important to remember that both Departmental Administrators and The Office of Sponsored Programs are resources that can provide assistance each step of the way.
